Jain shrine, brass with copper & silver.  Pali, Rajasthan, 1459 AD [1515 Samvat]. 

Reverse with Prakrit inscription stating monk’s name as Munichandra Suri.  Donated in ceremony on Mahasudiukan [4th month, 1st day].

I owe a debt of gratitiude to Jayesh Shah, administrator at Jain Samaj, Leicester, UK, who kindly read and translated the inscription.  He added that the monk Munichandra Suri is well known in Jain religious history as an author of religious texts - the webpage http://www.jainuniversity.org/PDFs/eng-lib/1.7.pdf states him to be ranked 40th in an historical hierarchy of Jain leadership]. Jayesh Shah performed puja to the shrine prior to my departure from the Samaj.
