A Jaipur miniature painting of high quality, with strong elements of Mughal influence, depicting a richly attired royal couple on a palace terrace. Beyond the terrace ballustrade behind the couple is a lush and verdant garden with vertical palm leaves which are highly detailed and individual. Beyond these are tall grasses with the seed heads painstakingly rendered. There follows an ever-receding vista with minute scenery including a variety of trees, buildings, etc; in reality the distant buildings are about the size of a match head! This eventually fades to a misty horizon.
