Ivory plaque with tenons for fixing into bed panels of a Royal marriage bed - one of a large set [two others remain in my collection - three others from the same set were sold privately and twelve more were sold at Bonhams, London Islamic and Indian Art sale, 29th April 2004, lot 452.] The grey-coloured ivory with hairline cracks throughout is typical of eastern India. 10cm. Two damages - to the left arm of the female and the swag above her head to the right [pieces missing]. 19th century.
